When a drunk truck driver claimed Lydia’s husband and son, her world shattered. The small town that once embraced her was now her personal hell. She made the decision to leave her hometown of Nazareth, Pennsylvania and move to Eastport, Maine, to start over in the last happy place she ever knew.
When the sea tried to claim Ryan, he was left a broken man. Starting over in a wheelchair was the last thing he expected to do. Ryan was born to be a lobster fisherman, not a buoy. When Lydia became his home care nurse, he never expected her to be the light at the end of his tunnel.
Will their broken hearts survive a second chance or will they remain locked in their cages?
Lobsters mate for life. Lobster love is forever.
4 Lobster Stars
As a debut book, I didn’t know what to expect when I picked
this up. I was blown away with the unique storyline and captivating characters.
It’s refreshing to read something different and unique when you read so many
stories with the same concept of a story.
Ryan is a fisherman who becomes handicapped while at sea.
Lydia is a widow and mother grieving for her family.
‘Sometimes the best
thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, and not obsess. Just
breathe and have faith that everything will work out for the best.’
Both Ryan and Lydia have lots to overcome. Both have their
own fears and need to basically start over the best they know how but together
they have the potential to help each other come back to the land of the living.
This story is about how Ryan learns to cope and live as a
handicapped man and how Lydia learns to live after grieving and move forward
like her family would want.
The town of Eastport, Maine is where I would love to live.
The people are so welcoming, caring and sweet. Like Ethel, Lydia’s new landlady.
She’s an old woman with wisdom beyond Lydia’s years.
“Life changes every
minute, every day. You look for love, you find love, you lose love, you laugh,
you cry, you have your ups and downs. You love life, you hate life. But in all
of everything, you find yourself going on with life, no matter what is thrown
at you.”
Lydia and Ryan’s story was sweet. It was a slow build up.
They went on a journey of sorts to find themselves and each other.
‘Today when he looked
at me with those steel blue eyes, I saw a hungry man, a lustful man who
hungered for me.’
“Now do you see me? This
is what you do to me. I’m a grown ass man, Lydia. I’m a man who wants to f**k
you out of your thoughts until there is no doubts of my intentions. I want you
with me all the time.”
Can you say hot? Ryan’s an Alpha male at his finest.
For a debut novel Jennifer and Jody did an excellent job.
They captivated me from the beginning till the very end and I fell in love with
Lydia and Ryan’s story.
