Coast to Coast Book Besties Blog was given an ARC copy of Country Heaven by Vicki Green for an honest review. I was really excited to get this finished ARC. I had heard great things and excerpts as Vicki was writing the book. I LOVED it from the first chapter. I couldn't put down this book. I wanted to know more about Memphis and Sadie. The way Vicki described the ranch and the land I felt like I was walking with the characters through the house or riding through the fields. I felt every emotion they felt. This was a refreshing read that left me with a smile on my face and wanting Book 2. Country Heaven is a must read for all those romantics out there. If you like some country adventure, this is also for you.

Rock My World by Don Abdul will leave you breathless. First of all, if you have read any of Don's books, you will know he is erotic and you the reader, become the characters. With that being said, when I was told he had a book of poetry, I was bouncing in my seat excited and eager to read it. Don did NOT disappoint. Don has a way with his words. They seep into you and make you feel every last naughty word as it's read leaving you soaked. My favorite poem has to be 'Easy', about pleasing a lover. It is passionate and left me wanting more. If your looking for a scorching hot quick collection, this is the book to read.

Just as she pressed her finger onto the doorbell one last time, the door opened and Tesha lost her breath. Her sharp inhale the only sound for a few seconds.

He didn’t seem discomfited at her silence, but stood like a statue. If not for the barely noticeable lifting and lowering of his chest she’d think him not real. Long lashed grey blue eyes met hers. They darkened to a deeper blue and his nostrils flared just enough to let her know he was attracted. Tesha flushed under the intense scrutiny, and the raw attraction she felt instantly. The haze in her mind somewhat lifted and she held her right hand out to him. “Hello. I’m Tesha Washington. Your new neighbor.”

The eyes moved slowly from her face down to her chest and finally to her outstretched hand. His much larger hand swallowed hers.

“Adam Ford.” At the touch, her lips parted, but she recovered enough not to gasp again like a Jane Austen character, and shake his hand. When he did not release it, she pulled free of his loose grip.

Once again she remained standing, her brain failing to engage and remember what she’d come over for. Maybe later it would seem odd that she’d not felt any compulsion to escape, to put distance between them like she’d done with every man who looked at her with even remote interest. Since David's death, any man's attention caused her guilt or awkward discomfort. The reason things didn't work out with Cleve. But not this man.

A wonderful aroma of oregano, tomato, and garlic tickled her nose and Tesha sniffed the air. “Something smells amazing.”

Adam looked over his shoulder into the house. It was then she noticed a kitchen towel draped across it. “I’m cooking.” His eyes slanted to the floor and then up to her. Surely it was not meant as flirtation, but the sweep of his lashes made her stomach flip. He cooked? His throat moved when he swallowed and cleared it. Each one of the handsome man’s movements sensual, without meaning to be. Tesha could barely drag her eyes from his throat to meet his gaze. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt whatever you’re doing. I can come back another time.”

Once again he remained silent, his face stoic except for what she translated as interest when his gaze roamed from her eyes to her lips. He took an awkward step back. “Please, come in.”

When he turned to walk, her eyes popped wide at his perfectly formed behind. Now that was what she called booty. Her mouth practically watered wondering what it would feel

like to have that under her palms. He wore loose sweatpants that hung low on his narrow hips, the worn fabric leaving very little to the imagination. When her mind went there, Tesha secretly thanked God he could not see her reaction to his tush. Ashamed at her thoughts, she rubbed a hand over her cheeks and dragged her eyes away to take in the interior of the house.

Great work Michelle!
I couldn't wait to dive into this book and see what Michelle had cooking....what I got were Liam and Emily a detective and a doctor....ok so by page 2 I was all in...cops and docs? Ya got me...

After the first ten pages, I settled in....settled in meaning I picked up on her writing style. It is something I have seen many times...the story jumping from one characters POV or voice to someone else or back to narrative...but at times it was confusing at first until I realized who was speaking and I got comfortable. I hope in latter books more page/chapter breaks and character names for reference would be helpful.

Overall, I loved the book! It was a great blend of action, thriller, steamy romance and who didn't want to smack Liam upside his head for being a dork after Emily poured her heart out to him?? OMG he seemed so ready to reveal himself but did the "ladies first" and then turned douche? Like he totally forgot the huge suitcase and baggage he was lugging around!!!

I look forward to future books!

This series of stories was gifted to me for an honest review including the prologue by the author. Keep in mind, I did not have any knowledge as to the basis of the book nor did I read any blurbs or see the book cover prior to reading this book.

I read the prologue first....it's three POV's that cycle between the main characters Leo Gold and Raisa Gordon. I was hooked by the second page. The hot scene unfolded and drew me in and laid premise to the story leading up to that point. I wanted more. This is written as a serial and I read parts 1-7 and apparently it's not done, because I want to hear the rest of the story. I want to find out what side Raisa chooses, her job or a future with Leo?

The story itself is about Vice Detective Raisa Gordon who gets the position of her dreams as an undercover agent in the Task Force. Only, she got more than she bargained for, she got the attention of Leo Gold, successful architect, international businessman and heir apparent to Gold crime family. Her own desires, passions and repressed traumas emerge as Leo seduces her. Leo loves hard while remaining faithful and pleasuring his women. There is more to Leo as well. How can there not be? Heir apparent to Gold crime family, Raisa's mission is to verify and gather Intel on Leo's connections to bust the whole operation. Meanwhile, Leo wants to peel her like an onion and discover, embrace and devour every inch of Raisa from the minute he noticed her at an art gallery as she gazed at the works. What he finds in Raisa, taps into his own dark tendencies of his bloodline he has tried so hard to compartmentalize within himself. Raisa, the "Queen of Disconnect", plummets down the rabbit hole while Leo evolves into himself throughout the book. I can't wait to see where this series goes from here! The imagery is vivid, tension is razor sharp and dialogue is free flowing and story keeps moving, which is awesome. There are definitely no drags in this book!!! Page after page, was a new discovery and twist and one more piece of the puzzle to both Raisa's desires and Leo's evolution.

When tragedy strikes Jase not only loses Liv but a part of himself. How could he possibly tell Alena how he feels? If rejected he couldn't possibly handle another loss...So 5 years, college and life happens. High School Reunion is due to happen and these two are brought back together. Will it be the same as old times? Alena is with Bill now and has her business and Jase is back in his hometown but still on the outskirts unable to return home after losing Liv.

Time and time again I was punched in the gut by the outpouring of emotion in this book. But with sadness comes joy! Shawn Dawson graces the cover of Vicki Green's the loss and knowing his love of food, I could not help but picture him throughout this book savouring cheats making food porn noises. This book made me anxious. Anxious to read more and praying for a happy outcome. How these two can possibly survive? With a title like "The Loss" I was still praying for my HEA...and no I'm not telling if you get one....and very much looking forward to Jolie and Tanner's story!!!

Obsidian Desire by TH Snyder Review

Obsidian Desire by TH Snyder is a standalone novella that was part of the Obsidian Collection. What no cliffhanger?? Lol. Not in this one. This is the story of Tyler the local Deputy Sheriff who takes his mates up on an offer to hit the town after his divorce. Shaine hapoens to be at the same bar, solo, when her friends are all busy and she needs to unwind after a stressful day of work. These two meet and hit it off and take a chance. Sparks ignite in a climactic triste but Tyler bails and it ends up being a one night stand. No names, no numbers. Three years later, their paths cross again but as Sheriff and driver on a deserted road when Shaine breaks down on side of the road. Tyler pulls a douche move and walks away again! Even though Paul Blake graces the cover of this novella, i seriously wanted to scream at this point....but no spoilers....will Tyler man up and admit to his attraction, will Sophie take a chance and forgive the sheriff douche ways? Will both their painful wounds of past failed relationships stand in their way of a second chance? This was a refreshing read after many TH inspired book hangovers. Check out Obsidian Desire.

Suicide Ride by E Llewellyn Review

In Suicide Ride-The Platinum Man by E. Llewellyn, I couldn't get enough of Johnny and Norman! Johnny Gellis is NOT your typical wanna-be rock star. He is a 6 and a half tall drink of water in the middle of the desert and a blessing to any dying man or woman. He is gonna make it big, he is sure of that, if he can just make the right connections. But there is more to this young man, he is not some dumb bloke. Contrary, he is a smart cookie, an MD. So what makes this doctor pick up and leave Atlanta and drive his endeared beat up Corvette to Los Angeles, the boulevard of broken dreams? E.Llewellyn paints a very vivid picture and creates awesome imagery in your minds eye down the path of Johnny Gellis and his conflicted soul. At first, I wasn't sure where the story was going, why we were there (in LA) or really what the story was about until about page 40. I didn't read any blurbs or review prior to reading this book. My best friend said "You gotta read this" She knows what I like, so I did. After page 40, that's when I was hooked...Norman is the star for me. Norman is the semi-retired legacy of Dimond Records. By day a record exec and by night in the seedy depths of Hadrian's a M/M gentlemen's club. When their worlds collide, Norman is drawn to Johnny like a moon in orbit, eclipsed by his beauty and then entranced by his song. But even smitten, Norman knows there is something off about Johnny. The interactions and conflicts both in real time dialogue and character thoughts are fabulous! Looking forward to seeing how their relationship progresses in Book Two-The Fix.

Testing the Submissive by Al Daltrey Review

Testing the Submissive by Al Daltrey is a book I wanted to read the minute it was released. The praise by others on Al Daltrey's work is absolutely accurate; Al Daltrey did not disappoint. The author did an AMAZING job in reflecting Abigail's POV. Although I have read quite a few BDSM books, Testing the Submissive surpasses the others. I recommend to anyone, read the description of the book, so you know what you are getting yourself into. Abigail is a submissive masochist. Lewis, her master/pimp, works within a network of sadists. After every session, Lewis interviews Abby to assure all sessions' details had been applied. As Abby goes through each experience you feel her happiness, elation, pain, sadness and anger. The poignant accounts of her sessions rip at your core as you ingest each emotion, lash by lash. Testing the Submissive is wonderfully written and helped me understand the thought process and emotion turmoils of a masochist, something that is so far from my personal thought processes and experiences. I was given an ARC by the author Julie Morgan of City Lights for review. When Book #1 Southern Roots ended, I could not stand Blaine. He was definitely my least favorite character. Book #2 City Lights is Blaine's story. It a story of redemption, sobriety, his struggle with recovery and second chances. Blaine gets a second chance on life through his sobriety and wants to do things right. Blaine starts producing an up and coming band and Penelope enters his life. The attraction is mutual but Penelope is in a relationship and Blaine has a love'm and leave'm reputation. Their chemistry erupts in the music and passion overflows their lives. Will Blaine show Penelope his true self? Will Penelope let Blaine past her walls? Will their relationship tear them apart before it even has a chance to blossom? This book made my whole opinion of Blaine change. Fall in love with Blaine and Penelope in City Lights.

I was given an ARC of this book by the author. This is Book #4 and mostly Steve's story. The Queen of Cliffhangers left us wanting at the end of Book #3. Left us begging and pleading for Dault's safety and survival. Steve has screwed up. Screwed up his life, marriage down the tubes, turned to alcohol and,drugs to numb his pain and has pushed everyone away including Ashley. Etty is a hot mess and prays for Daults return. Linc and Jo have left town to start over. The Cursed Crew is fractured. Ashley gives Steve a chance to give her a reason to stay. Will Steve take it? The Cursed Crew must stick together if its gonna work. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. My blood pressure was racing and I devoured page after page yearning to find Dault and a positive outcome. Praying for Steve to get his act together and man up! And just when I thought things couldn't get anymore twisted Christian reappears, this time with Jenn. Th Snyder has done it again! With every page and every book, I just fall deeper in love with these characters. Can't wait for Cliff's story!
